About Me
I’ve been an archaeologist and illustrator for over twenty years, working mostly on prehistoric sites in the UK, eastern Europe, Anatolia, the West Indies and the Pacific. I’m particularly interested in the role of narrative in archaeological visualisation. Over the past few years this has resulted in writing and illustrating comics for archaeological excavation projects, sites and museums, including CADW, the University of Oxford and the Museum of London.

Hello John Loved the Bo Peep sketch. I have a a small pile of important looking letters addressed to you at West Albert Rd. I could just forward them to you c/o the Gallery. Hope you are both well Michael Nugent
Hi Michael – Yes please: you can forward them to me at the Cambrian Studios Building, Oswestry SY11 2JL. Cheers! We’re all well here – hope you and the family are too!
I am interested in your Palau comics. Have you published them, yet?
No, not yet. I’m having trouble deciding exactly how they would be best edited together. I had an offer to publish them more as a “how-to-do-archaeological-comics” type publication, but I’m not sure whether that’s the best way to go. Suggestions?
Hi John,
My wife and I just saw your lecture at the SOTMAS meeting at the Potteries museum, and we’d just like to say we thought it was brilliant! Very, very good, really enjoyed it. And….. we really get where you’re coming from and what you’re trying to do.
Keep up the good work,
Best wishes
Chris and Anita
SOTMAS members (and now archeocomic fans!)
Cheers, Chris – glad you both enjoyed the lecture!
