Rarely get a chance to blow my own horn about the Inside Out posters I do, but I’ve been very pleased with the way some of the recent ones have turned out.
I’ve been churning a bunch of them out recently in preparation for setting off – want to make sure that Diana has posters for everything that’s coming up in the next two months. With such a mixture of artists’ work to incorporate, I worked hard to create a unified theme to them – one based on design, rather than colour (as we had done in the past).
As a result, although the colour-schemes for each poster are very different, the look stays – I think – pretty uniform. I particularly like the SPACE one – but then I had a very interesting drawing by Dorothy Harrison to work with!
The posters are up on the Inside Out blog, as well as up around and about in Oswestry.
The image above is for Diana’s “Left Fork” project – her idea for creating space and funding for reasonably-established local artists to do something completely different, and to have those results exhibited alongside their more usual practice. The project’s still very much in the planning stages at the moment – searching for the right venue and the right kind of funding – but very much looking forward to the results.
