Despite – or perhaps, because of – the fact that our walk book is now published, Martin and I continue to go out on our weekly walks. Gaynor and Rosie have been joining us of late, and so yesterday, all five of us – me, Martin, Perot, Gaynor and Rosie – charged up Cadair Berwyn.
I say “charged” – there was more huffing and puffing than charging! But all the effort was completely worth it: the view was tremendous, and it was great to finally make it up there. We went from Pistyll Rhaeadr rather than over from Maes or the Ceiriog valley. Martin picked by far the best route, up the valley that leads from the waterfall to the lake, which meant we got a constantly shifting view of Cadair Berwyn as we climbed.
Fantastic day – really enjoyed myself. Martin and I are starting a blog of our walks. At the moment we’re just trying it out to see how it works, but if we can get into the whole blogging of our walks thing, it could end up being a good way to record our exertions.
I took a bunch of photos as reference for some sketches, so I’ll post some of those soon.
