Finally finished the background to the Lepenski Vir reconstruction. It’s been a long, chopped-about process, interrupted by lots of things both at my end and Dusan’s – but we’re both happy with this now. The reason it’s been quite so long is that we’ve had to work our way through the details of everything – from the pitch of the slope, to the speed and turbulance of the river, to the construction materials of the house. But it’s been worth taking the time to get it right. It’s a lot of work building a site from the “ground up”! Dusan’s work on their reconstructed house out at Vlasac has helped considerably – and I’m looking forward to eventually getting a chance to see it.
Now I just need to add in all the people – crowds and crowds of them sitting in my sketchbook waiting to be added to the scene. I’ll be working on that for most of this week.

Bravo!
