Mountains - John Swogger, 2010
January’s only just begun and yet it seems like it’s been a long, cold year already! But the New Year’s started well – Studio a1 is coming back to life as people begin to emerge from their winter hibernation. I know we’re supposed to get more bad weather fairly soon, but at least for now, everyone seems to be enjoying the lull. We’ve just switched around the current work exhibition, and over the next four months we’ll be giving various artists in the group the chance to take over the studio space for their own solo or pair/small group shows. Diana’s compiling a diary for the next four months which, as soon as it gets finalised will go up on the blog and the website.
Back into the saddle with work, as well. Lots of illustration work – short stories and magazine articles. I’ve got a dozen illustrations on the go at the moment – I’ll post images as and when they’re finished.
And now that Something Different About Dad has hit the shelves officially, Kirsti and I are beginning to think about a second volume as well. Started pulling together notes and sketches to see what shape the book might take.
So, lots of projects taking shape. Suppose I should stop blogging and get back to work!

I would like to include a general view of Cataholyuk in a new book ‘Greening Cities’ for Blackwell/Wiley. Could you get in touch?
