Last day of excavation on Nevis. Paperwork and data entry to finish up over the weekend, packing on Monday – and then that’s it for the season. Very pleased with the way things have gone this summer. A lot of interesting finds to draw – and some good panels put together for our Open Day. One of the nice things to come out of the latter was being able to design the core of an Accession System for the Museum. Hopefully they’ll be able to use it as a basis for a proper catalogue as they expand their collection over the next few years. My thanks to Jane Ebbitt and Evelyn Henville at the Nevis Historical and Conservation Society for their support in helping put together the archaeological exhibit at the Alexander Hamilton Museum in Charlestown.
As I put together the illustrations and the panels for the exhibition, I started to write down a few thoughts for the upcoming VIA workshop in October. I’ll be working on putting those thoughts into some order over the next few weeks. The workshop session I’ll be part of will be focused on Circulation of archaeological images – covering exactly the sorts of things I’ve just been doing at the Museum.
