The National Campaign for the Arts is leading a Culture Forum in partnership with Arts & Business with the aim of discussing the future of funding for culture and the arts. The aim of the NCA is to “safeguard, promote and develop the arts and win public and political recognition for the importance of the arts as a key element in our national culture”, particularly in the context of a debate about the future of arts funding. The Culture Forum and its blog is a way for all of us who are part of the arts world to have a voice in this debate.
Comments will be opened shortly once the notes of the first Culture Forum meeting are posted. For those of us in the front-line of trying to develop sustainable, artist-lead projects this will be a great opportunity to participate in this ongoing debate. Our Cambrian Studios project in Oswestry has already felt the pinch of funding cuts, and Diana and I are looking forward to taking part in the Culture Forum blog discussions and talking about our experiences.
