Flitting through the blogosphere, found the great Doodlers Anonymous site via Tabitha Emma. Clearly, I was going to be a fan. Like graffiti, doodling is one of those seriously underrated art forms. The site’s also got some great textile/collage work by Stefanie Berks. Ever since Diana got into textiles at college, I’ve been paying more attention to contemporary textile artwork. Texture and layering – very archaeological, no?
Looking forward to getting back to the studio and doing something art-y. Once the copyedits are done on Something Different I’ll start putting some shape to my next graphic novel project. I’ve been thinking for some time about using collage and mixed media to bring depth and texture to comic pages. Might take some time to think seriously about that.
